Principal’s Message
Dear new comers,
I feel great delight to welcome you to this prestigious institution. You have come here for a noble cause to seek knowledge. Both teachers and the students are indulged in this noble mission. We need to understand their roles in our respective positions as such with the sense of responsibility attached with them. The role of your parents and community at large is also very important. Education is not a one way process. We, as teachers, can perform our duties more effectively if, our students show a genuine curiosity to know with a serious involvement in the process of getting education.
Dear students, education is not only a matter of passing the examination or achieving a degree but also a process of transformation of the whole personality. Knowledge without practice is useless. I would like to see the students of my college not merely devoting themselves to studies but also enthusiastically taking part in Co-Curricular activities. Hence join various clubs and societies working in the college and hold the flag of your college high. Keep a strong belief in your hidden potential, we provide you platform to bring forth your talent.

Government Post Graduate College for Women Wahdat Colony Lahore was established as an intermediate college in a rented building at 10 Kareem Park, Allama Iqbal Town on September 1983. In 1984 the present building of the college was completed and the institute was shifted from the rented building to the present building. This institution has a special significance in the surrounding. Keeping in mind the growing needs and demands of the students and the parents the institution was awarded the status of a degree college.
The participation of dedicated college staff and hard work of the students have played a great role in sustaining a peaceful and prosperous platform for the students who take active part in curricular and co-curricular activities. The Government of the Punjab has constructed an additional three storey building to fulfill the prolonged demand of the college. In this new block latest science labs have been established after which BSc and MA Urdu classes were started in September 2001. From 2003 classes of MSc Psychology have been started. Throughout the result of MA Urdu has been 100%, while in MSc Psychology the college has always acquired a prominent position. With the help of District Government a spacious hall has been constructed. On the instruction of Chief Minister the college has started the classes of 2nd shift from 2003, which are going on successfully.
The performance of our students in curricular and co-curricular activities is eminent. In 2008, the college student Naghamana Khalid secured 1st position from Lahore Board in Arts group and Sadia secured 4th position. The Chief Minister of Punjab awarded the college for good performance. In Sports the students of college not only secured awards at College and University level but also won prizes at Provincial and National level. In International Sports, Madiha Latif was selected for world universities and she won bronze medal. Farah Riaz represented the Country in the first Asian jujistic championship held in Bangkok in August 2009, winning gold, silver and bronze medals in different events.
